Dr Roller has knowledge of the gait cycle and a sound understanding of lower extremity biomechanics, which are essential for success in building an orthotic correctly. Many other orthotic companies perform only a static (standing) analysis of the bottom of the foot. This is practically useless because we humans don’t just stand; we walk, run, and jump! These dynamic movements require complex foot muscles and bone changes. This is why Dr Roller analizes one’s gait while walking. Pressure is placed on certain parts of the foot while walking rather than while standing. If one’s gait is anything other than normal, it will be revealed in the pedograph. After acquiring all the necessary information, Dr Roller then takes a foam impression of one’s foot and sends it all to Xtreme Footwerks and Shawn Eno. Xtreme Footwerks, Inc. is a small, custom orthotic laboratory specializing in problem cases including but not limited to: supinators, extreme pronators, as well as cases in which other orthotics have failed. Shawn has extensive experience in orthotic fabrication and modification. His experience with orthotic fabrication, along with his extensive background in foot and ankle biomechanics, have given him national recognition as an expert in his field. Shawn works both at his private practice in Idaho Springs, Colorado, and consultants nationally in his fields of expertise. Shawn lectures nationally on biomechanics and foot orthotic therapy.
